Late last March, reports started to appear about Apple denying App Store submissions from applications that used UDID without explicit user permission. We believe Apple will give developers some time to migrate away from UDID methods but it is unlikely that this practice will continue because it does not solve the concern of security and privacy.
In response to the news, we quickly developed solutions to support alternate means of device identification. Our engineers updated our iOS SDK, which supports both OpenUDID and hashed MAC address alternatives, which guarantee that your application will not be denied irrespective of Apple’s UDID policies. We recommend you include our updated iOS SDK in new releases of your application.
This is a drop-in replacement for iOS SDK versions 2.0, no code changes are required. Updating Aarki’s iOS SDK is simple! Just go to the Library tab in Aarki Portal, download and update to Aarki iOS SDK v2.9, test and go!
